Chocolate Drive
Our Cadbury Chocolate Drive officially ended two weeks ago so please return any unsold chocolates and money collected to the office as soon as possible.
We will be announcing the first, second and third classes to reach the $900 sales target at assembly on Friday morning. To be in the running for your class to also be rewarded for your sales efforts, return any unsold chocolates and money collected by the end of this Thursday.
The holidays are a great time to pound the pavement selling any left over stock. If you are able to continue selling over the school holidays or need additional supplies to sell, please contact the office. We really appreciate your extra effort and support.
We look forward to updating you with progress on our new bike shelter on the west site and the refurbishment of the east site bike shelter. Exciting times ahead!
GPA – making a difference
The GPA are a dynamic team of parents and friends of the Glen Huntly Primary School Community who fundraise for our school to improve the facilities and experiences for our children. We also organise fun social events that bring our wonderful school community together and build strong links between our school and the wider community.
In terms of social events that bring our community together we have brought you the Family Fun Night, the Mother’s and Father’s Day Stalls, Barefoot Bowling, the Grandparents Morning Tea. Later this year we have lots more planned, including the Rocktober Trivia Night and Kids Disco. We have also arranged various special lunches for the kids including Harmony Day Sushi Lunch, the Book Parade Fish’n’Chip Lunch and this Friday’s Pie Lunch.
The weekly cake raffles and Friday lunchtime icy-poles are thoroughly enjoyed by all; and the Easter Raffles at the Easter Hat Parade Hamper Raffles at the Carols Evening add another element of excitement while providing some extra fundraising.
We have also coordinated some serious fundraising for the school this year including the Bunnings BBQ, Cake Stall at the Glen Huntly Street Festival, our Cadbury and Sunscreen Drives. We have more to come with our Election Day Sausage Sizzle and a Mango Drive and Tri Nature product drive later this year.
With so many ways you can choose to become involved or support our school – there is something for everyone.
GPA funds are used to upgrade our existing facilities and to provide new facilities, including the planned bike shed for the West Site. GPA funds are also used for running various specialist programs.
The GPA have raised $8,560 so far this year, and counting. We couldn’t have done it without your support.
