FRIDAY LUNCHTIME SNACKS FOR TERM 2 2021
NOTE: FRIDAY LUNCHTIME VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Throughout Term 2 GPA are planning on selling Hot Chocolates, Berri Quelch Fruit Juice Sticks as well as icy poles on Friday Lunchtimes … To do this we need your help!
This will be available to all students in Prep to Grade 6 with service on both the Senior (East) & Junior (West) sites.
Thanks to Heidi Powell for co-ordinating our weekly lunch time snacks, and to Abbi Gilbert for taking on the role of Junior Site Coordinator.
Spot availability: We are in desperate need of more volunteers to serve (other than our co-ordinators there is only 1 person signed up to serve for the remainder of the term at the moment!) – if we don’t have parents start signing up we will not be able to continue with the Friday Lunch Time Snacks (which would be such a shame!). If you have an hour spare from 12.45 -1.45 p.m. on a Friday please sign up & come along! You can sign up here: Term 2 Hot Chocolate / Icy Pole Roster
Cost: $1 each (remember it is cash only). Bring in your own cup for the hot chocolate and you will receive a marshmallow!
WEEKLY CAKE RAFFLE – Drawn at assemblies Fridays
We had some amazing and delicious offerings for our Cake Raffle! Thanks to Briana Price-Robertson for the delicious dessert last week! We look forward to enjoying the culinary delights that Fiona Davey will bake this week.
Each week a GHPS family signs up to bake a cake / slice / biscuits (or whatever else you choose!) and the children are invited to present the delicious treat and draw the raffle at assembly on Friday.
Tickets are $1 each – you can purchase as many entries as you would like!
Spot availability: There are no spots left for Term 2! Look out for the Term 3 roster that will be available towards the end of this term!
GRANDPARENT & SPECIAL PERSON’S MORNING TEA – POSTPONED
As per the Compass notification sent out last week and the School Newsletter, GPA have decided to postpone the annual Grandparent’s Morning Tea to later in the year when we expect some warmer weather so that we can host this event outdoors (the safety of our community is our priority). We are excited that we will be extending the invitation to grandparents and special persons! We will provide the new date and details once this has been determined. Thanks for your understanding and support!
GHPS COMMUNITY BREAKFAST – POSTPONED
The annual Community Breakfast planned to be hosted by Theircare and GHPS staff had to be postponed due to current COVID-19 restrictions. Theircare will be providing a free menu of scrumptious breakfast delights with plans for a coffee cart too, selling coffee to keep the families supplied with this early morning fave. GHPS will provide details of a new date when available.
FAREWELL TO JULIE BRUCE
An end of an era! After 33 yars at GHPS, Julie Bruce (the GHPS business manager and the face of the GHPS) will be retiring at the end of Term 2. The GPA want to extend our most sincere gratitude to Julie for her tireless efforts supporting the GPA for so many years. Julie has been involved in some way, shape or form with pretty much every event and drive that GPA run – from distribution of notices, stapling raffle tickets, processing of contributions and payments, setting up floats and providing finance and profit/loss information to helping sort special lunches and handing out products purchased!
Stay tuned as GPA announce a farewell for Julie (planned for the last week of term, restrictions allowing) to acknowledge her enormous contribution to GHPS. We will also provide details of how you can contribute to a gift for Julie on behalf of the entire GHPS community!
