Health and Physical Education
In addition to Physical Education and Health knowledge activities that are experienced by all students as part of their classroom programs, all classes also attend weekly Physical Education lessons which forms an important part of the comprehensive Specialist programs at Glen Huntly Primary School. The topics and areas of study for each level across the school during Physical Education times for this year will be:
Level 1 (Prep)
Term 1: Basic Movement, Ball Handling Skills and Dance
Term 2: Perceptual Motor Program
Term 3: Gymnastics and Modified Games
Term 4: Fundamental Motor Skills and Aquatics (Swimming)
Level 2 (Years 1 and 2)

Glen Huntly Primary School has also been able to secure Australian Government Sports Commission grant funding to run the Active After School Communities sports programs, where outside expert instructors provide three one hour sessions on three afternoons per week, covering sports such as circus skills, golf, cricket, fencing, soccer and basketball.
Glen Huntly Primary School regularly participates in extra-curricular sports activities such as Jump Rope for Heart and the Ride2School program, to further promote health and wellbeing and student involvement in and confidence with physical education.
