WELCOME TO 2021 GHPS

The Glen Huntly Parents Association (GPA) warmly welcome everyone back to GHPS in 2021!

The year certainly started with great positivity and it was wonderful to see parents back on-site for drop-offs and pick-ups, and very exciting to see Prep parents gathered for in the Library for a wonderful Prep Parent Morning Tea on Thursday 28th January.

Despite the snap lockdown that has ensued, we are optimistic that we will be able to return to more on-site activities soon. Of course all events planned will be subject to COVID-19 restirctions at the time of the event, so unfortunately we may have to cancel some events at the last minute, but we are keen to continue to organise and plan events wherever possible.

PREP PARENT MORNING TEA

A very warm welcome to all the new Prep families joining our GHPS community!

It was wonderful to have many of our “new” and “old” GHPS parents join us to celebrate our Preps first day of school. A huge thank you to Michelle Kelly for co-ordinating our Prep Parent Morning Tea and to the trusted bakers and volunteers on the day who contributed delicious goodies and welcomed everyone (including Anju Aggarwal, Fiona Davey, Sharbani Dhar, Michelle Kelly, Heidi Powell, Ashwini Ragula, Nicole Verginis).

WELCOME FAMILY FUN NIGHT (Friday 12th March)

We are planning on hosting a Family Fun Night on Friday 12th March. A notice with additional information will be distributed via Compass soon. WATCH THIS SPACE!

FRIDAY LUNCHTIME SNACKS FOR TERM 1 2021

GPA are hoping to be able to resume our Friday Lunchtime Snack tradition selling  Berri Quelch Fruit Juice Sticks Friday lunchtimes during Term 1 soon (for students in Prep to Grade 6).

Students will be able to purchase an icy-pole on the day for $1 each!

We do need 4 volunteers to help with this when it is up and running – information and links to SignUp will be distributed via Compass when we know more!

You can become a member of the GPA by completing the application form on the last page of the GPA Constitution and providing that The Office (East Site). Membership is open to all GHPS families and is free. You can also subscribe to the GPA Mailing List at the bottom of the GHPS GPA page on our website.

Even if you are not a member you are still welcome to volunteer to help with any of the events/drives we coordinate (noting that to help at school events you are required to supply a copy of your current Working With Children Check to the School Office to be kept on file as per the VOLUNTEERS policy).

This website has been wonderful in rostering / preparing for GPA events and we will continue to use this for upcoming events.

How it works:

1) Click on the GHPS Sign Up Page link, or copy it into your browser to see the roster.

2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.

3) Sign up by entering your name, email address and phone number.

It’s That Easy!

BONUSES:

• You will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.
• SignUp does not share your email address with anyone.
• You will receive an email reminder to let you know what you have volunteered for
• You can cancel out of shifts or choose other spots if your circumstances change (although please give us enough time to find a replacement).
