Before and After School Care (TheirCare)
Our Before and After School Care program is delivered on-site by TheirCare, providing a safe, engaging and supportive environment for students outside of school hours. The program operates every school day from 7:00am to 9:00am and 3:30pm to 6:00pm, offering flexibility for families with busy schedules.
Each morning, TheirCare staff supervise and support students before school and ensure they are safely escorted to their classrooms just before 9:00am. In the afternoon, staff collect students directly from their classrooms at 3:30pm and escort them to the program, ensuring a smooth and secure transition at the end of the school day.
Students attending the program are provided with breakfast in the morning, as well as afternoon tea and snacks after school. The program also runs on curriculum days and throughout the school holidays, ensuring consistent care options across the year.
We are fortunate to have a large, dedicated space for the program, designed to support a wide range of activities. This includes:
- A fully equipped kitchen
- Two toilets for convenience
- A wet area for arts, crafts and painting
- A developmental play area
- A cosy reading corner
- Tables for board games, socialising, or completing homework
In addition to the indoor facilities, students have access to a fantastic outdoor play space, which features:
- Two playgrounds
- A large grass area
- Undercover deck
- A synthetic soccer pitch
The holiday program is a highlight for many students, offering a variety of engaging experiences. This includes regular off-site excursions such as trips to the zoo, cinema visits and roller skating, as well as a range of exciting on-site incursions and activities.
The program is designed to balance structured activities with free play, ensuring students feel relaxed, connected and supported at the beginning and end of each school day.

Some important information for parents
Student safety at Glen Huntly Primary School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.
Before school: School grounds are supervised between 8.45am and 9am
After school: School grounds are supervised between 3.30pm and 3.45pm
Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity).
Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre–arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice).
