Our Mission & Values

Our Mission:

Our school aims to provide a caring, inclusive and challenging learning environment where every student is supported to reach their full potential. We want our students to be confident, capable, resilient and respectful learners who are well prepared to contribute positively to their community and the wider world.

We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated and passionate teachers and staff who genuinely care about our students and their learning. Our teachers are caring, kind and highly professional, with high expectations for every student. They work collaboratively to create classrooms where students feel safe, supported, connected and encouraged to achieve their best.

We are committed to providing a high-quality teaching and learning program that responds to the needs of every learner. Our strong academic results in Literacy and Numeracy reflect our focus on explicit instruction, evidence-informed teaching practices, regular assessment and targeted support. We also recognise that success at school extends beyond academic achievement, with a strong focus on student wellbeing, relationships, engagement and developing the whole child.

We want every student to feel a strong sense of belonging, be proud of their achievements and leave our school with the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our Values:

The values which form the basis of the actions of the whole GHPS school community are:

Our Parent Community:

Our school is fortunate to have a strong, welcoming and supportive parent community that plays an important role in school life. Parents and families are encouraged to be actively involved and contribute in many different ways throughout the year.

Our parent community supports the school by helping to run our Friday canteen and Breakfast Club, participating in working bees, organising social events like our trivia night and supporting the Spring Fair and school disco. Parents also contribute to special events such as Grandparents Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, Footy Day, Japanese Day, helping out in the classroom with reading as well as our Parents’ Book Club.

We value the time, skills and enthusiasm that our families bring to the school. Their involvement helps create a strong sense of community and belonging and provides our students with opportunities to see their families actively contributing to and celebrating their school.
