THANK YOU GHPS FOR ANOTHER AMAZING YEAR OF FUNDRAISING!

The GPA want to thank everyone for their contributions throughout 2019. Together we have raised a total of $50,819 for our school so far this year!

The funds raised from this year have been used to purchase air-conditioning units, 7 interactive TVs, 2 robot kits, $10,000 worth of furniture for our classrooms; and for Curriculum Budgets (English – $1,500, Maths – $2,400 and Library – $1,000) to enable the purchase of books and resources to enhance these curriculum areas for all GHPS students. There is also $4,000 that has been earmarked for the bike shed(s) to be included in the next set of building works.

Christmas Carols Night – Tuesday 10 December

What an awesome night we had! The weather was lovely, the Senior Choir sounded wonderful during their performance, it was delightful to see all the students joining in for “Deck the Halls”, and our student bands “The Party Hats” and “Second Chairs” were thoroughly entertaining – you are all so talented! Thank you to Mr Andrew Aitken for coordianting the musical performances for the evening!

The Art Auction was another resounding success with $1230 raised for our school. Thank you to Ms Juz de Bruyn for inspiring our children to create such amazing artwork, and for collating it so cleverly. Thanks to Ms Ruth Roberts (Woodards Glen Huntly) for being our auctioneer and to the students who helped announce the artwork.

The rides were a hit with much fun had on the inflatables, and many families took the opportunity to enjoy pinicing on our “new” lush green oval. Thanks to Cathy Foden and Fiona Davey for re-organising the rides from Fete Day! Thanks to Ms Julie Bruce, Ms Amy Tinetti & Ms Ruth Smyth-Kinyua for selling the tickets.

Thanks to Ms Juz de Bruyn for the delicious Jude’s Homemade Lemonade icypoles – always a hit with everyone!

Thanks to Ross Donnan for coordinating and serving at “The Watering Hole”, and to Sandra Zovko for serving throughout the evening.

The HandMade Stall was also a highlight – thanks to Abbi Gilbert for coordianting this.

Thanks to the school community for donating some wonderful items for our Christmas Hampers, and to the GPA for coordianting the Christmas Raffles, mini Silent Auction and Lucky Envelopes.

The GPA also wishes to thank all those who helped wrap Christmas Hampers, set-up and packed up which all helped make the Carols Night a great success: Hayley Clift, Fiona Davey, Abbi Gilbert, Angela Maglis, Craig Matthews, Heidi Powell, Kalai Selvi, Alicia Voges, Nicole Verginis & Theo Verginis.

To Shirley Mirams, thank you for coming along to sell our wonderful GHPS History Books.

The GHPS parent community took this opportunity to sincerely thank Mr Bill Manuel for his many years of dedicated service to our school, with a heartfelt speech made by our School Council President, Craig Matthews.

Bill has taught many students and had such a positive impact on so many lives in the GHPS community over the years, and he will be sorely missed by students, collaegues and parents alike. We wish Bill all the very best with his retirement! But we do look forward to seeing Bill as a Casual Relief Teacher next year!

We also appreciate everyone’s understanding about the no-show of the Two Fat Indians food truck.

We are very happy to announce that the total amount raised was $4889.65. What a wonderful result. Thank you everyone.

Friday Lunchtime Snacks

(Quelch frozen fruit sticks)

Friday 13th December will be our final Friday Lunchtime Snacks for 2019. A special thank you to Heidi Powell (Coordinator) for all of her efforts throughout 2019 (and for agreeing to coordinate this on behalf of GPA in 2020!)

For children who have not pre-purchased for Term 4, icy-poles can be purchased on the day for $1.

Weekly Cake Raffle

We look forward to enjoying what Roopa has in store for us this week. For our final week of the school year we have a special Christmas Bonanza lined up – it will be Helen Mathews‘ final cake raffle as a parent at GHPS and I have heard a whisper that we may be spoiled with another amazing Gingerbread House.

To all our wonderful Cake Raffle supporters – Don’t forget to buy your tickets!

Prep Parent Morning Tea 2020 – Thursday 30th January

Remember to note this day in your diary and if you can please do help by supplying some delicious home baked goodies and/or helping to set up and serve on the morning. Thank You!
