FRIDAY LUNCHTIME SNACKS FOR TERM 2 2021
NOTE: FRIDAY LUNCHTIME VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Throughout Term 2 GPA are planning on selling Hot Chocolates, Berri Quelch Fruit Juice Sticks as well as icy poles on Friday Lunchtimes … To do this we need your help!
This will be available to all students in Prep to Grade 6 with service on both the Senior (East) & Junior (West) sites.
We thank Heidi Powell for coordinating the Friday Lunchtime Snacks including arranging the purchase of everything and committing to coordinating the preparation and serving of hot chocolates each week on the Senior Site. Also, thanks to Abbi Gilbert for taking on the role of Junior Site Co-ordinator.
Spot availability: We are in need of more helpers to serve. If you have an hour spare from 12.45 – 1.45pm on a Friday please come along! You can sign up here: Term 2 Hot Chocolate / Icy Pole Roster
Cost: $1 each (remember it is cash only). Bring in your own cup for the hot chocolate and you will receive a marshmallow!
WEEKLY CAKE RAFFLE – Drawn at assemblies Fridays
We had some amazing and delicious offerings for our Cake Raffle! Thanks to Amandine Joalland for the delicious cake last week! We look forward to enjoying the culinary delights that Ross Donnan will bake this week.
Each week a GHPS family signs up to bake a cake / slice / biscuits (or whatever else you choose!) and the children are invited to present the delicious treat and draw the raffle at assembly on Friday.
Tickets are $1 each – you can purchase as many entries as you would like!

MOTHER’S DAY STALL – Friday 7th May
The Mother’s Day Stall held on Friday 7th May was a resounding success! It was wonderful to see the students lovingly and very carefully choosing just the right gift for their mum or special someone. Thank you to the families who supplied baked goods for the stall and to the many helpers who sorted the gifts, set-up, served and packed up on the day (Janaik Ananth, Sushmita Bhattacharya, Sona Balasburamanian, Hayley Clift, Abbi Gilbert, Anjali Jain, Amandine Joalland, Ruth Kinyua-Smith, Vasumitra, Hannd Madhu, Michelle, Jyothsna Mvr, Makiko Noguchi, Briana Price-Robertson, Nicole Verginis). Finally, thank you to our wonderful GHPS community for supporting the stall!
2022 FETE PLANNING MEETING: Friday 14th May 9am (Wendy Wilson Hall)
GHPS are planning an awesome Fete for 2022 and we want your input and ideas! The Fete will be a major fundraising event for 2022 that will benefit all GHPS students from Prep through to Grade 6 and provides an excellent opportunity for community engagement with our school.
3 great reasons to participate:
1. Raise funds for a great cause – our children’s education
2. Meet like-minded parents and make new friends
3. Have fun, be creative and share your ideas
Our first introductory meeting was held on Tuesday 11th May 2021 at 7pm, with another introductory meeting on Friday 14th May 2021 at 9 am (Wendy Wilson Hall, East Site). Please come along to hear all about it and consider joining our Fete Committee!
GRANDPARENT’S MORNING TEA – Friday 28th May (save the date!)
The GPA is excited to be able to host a morning tea for GHPS student grandparents during Education Week – a highlight in our calendar!
Further information regarding the finer details will be provided next week via Compass notifications. We will be calling upon all bakers to provide a variety of savoury and sweet delights to be enjoyed by our students’ grandparents (shared with their grandchildren no doubt) while spending some quality time and making more wonderful memories together. We will also call out for volunteers to set-up, serve and pack up on the day. Watch this space for more information & links to rosters …

You can become a member of the GPA by completing the application form on the last page of the GPA Constitution and providing that The Office (East Site). Membership is open to all GHPS families and is free. You can also subscribe to the GPA Mailing List at the bottom of the GHPS GPA page on our website.
Even if you are not a member you are still welcome to volunteer to help with any of the events/drives we coordinate (noting that to help at school you are required to supply a copy of your current Working With Children Check to the School Office to be kept on file as per the VOLUNTEERS policy and also sign that you consent to the GHPS Code of Conduct).

This website has been wonderful in rostering / preparing for GPA events and we will continue to use this for upcoming events.

1) Click on the GHPS Sign Up Page link, or copy it into your browser to see the roster.
2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.
3) Sign up by entering your name, email address and phone number.
It’s That Easy!
BONUSES:
- You will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.
- SignUp does not share your email address with anyone.
- You will receive an email reminder to let you know what you have volunteered for
- You can cancel out of shifts or choose other spots if your circumstances change (although please give us enough time to find a replacement).
